The Suburbs

The Suburbs is a tabletop RPG for 4 players where you play as teenagers playing games and talking online. It's a simple game that's mostly about what conversations with online friends feel like.

The game doesn't require any dice or any kind of game master. All you will need is about four people and something to write things down with.

Honestly this game was a large and taxing project. Once I finished it I was unsure of what to do with it. Most of the time when I make games I do it because they're about a thing or a topic I got particularly interested at any given time, but this game was different. Every time I started working on this game it was like I blacked out for an hour or two and more of it was finished. Sometimes an entire day had passed without me noticing. This might just be a new part of my creative process that I need to adapt to, but it was still a little unsettling. Unfortunately because of the nature of this game's development it's difficult for me to feel fully responsible for it. Care and effort definitely went into this game, but it's hard to take credit for that when I was only somewhat aware of it.
